Scale-Rhythm Studies for Strings.

This is perhaps the most useful one page warm up for string ensembles, lessons, or solo study. Choose the scale, then the rhythm to use, and away you go. Using as a round turns it into a useful tuning exercise. Change the bow marks, add dynamics, change tempo… you can challenge your students every class.

The 1 bar rhythm example is meant to show when to change notes.  They are on a generic line for easy viewing, but typically you would follow the ‘2 beats on each note’ pattern as you ascend/descend.
