This 2-page handout should be in the folder of every brass player tasked with maintaining valves and slides on their instrument. Review it often – make sure you have oil, snakes, slide grease, extra spit corks, truing tool, and a mouthpiece puller in your toolbox should students need them. Encourage them all to have their own mouthpiece brush or their own cleaning kit.
